From the beginning [of our wedding day], Shel was extremely professional. I gave him a specific list of the pictures that I wanted taken. He was flexible about how and where and when I wanted the pictures taken and tremendously accommodating. I explained that I wanted very classic wedding portraits and then wanted him to have fun with the candid photos. I was extremely finicky about wanting enough black and whites and he was great about that.

Many top of the line photographers are either so classic with wedding pictures that the photos really miss the fun of the wedding, or so artistic that you have no idea who came (like the photographers who take too many pictures of just your shoes, or like 20 pictures of your flower girl’s hands–you know?) but Shel was right on target with a great mixture of candids and classic pictures.

Shel arrived at our farmhouse with a smile on his face the day of the wedding and it never left his face. At the same time, he was not at all intrusive to our guests. One of my bridesmaids asked how the wedding shots were and was surprised when I told her how happy we were. "Why are you surprised?" I asked. She replied that she had not seen him take many pictures and thought he might not have actually taken photos of the ceremony. 600 pictures and about 7 hours later, Shel had gone nearly unnoticed by a bridesmaid–that is about as unobtrusive and professional as I could have imagined.

Finally, as for the quality and our satisfaction with the photos, we are stunned. First, we look good in the pictures (never a bad thing) but more importantly, we look like us. We thought he made the wedding look beautiful, but most significantly, he captured the spirit of the day and the fun that we had. I would without a single reservation recommend Shel to any bride who can afford him. He is worth every penny.

I know how many vendor decisions you are probably making and how stressed you are planning all of it, but know that if you choose Shel, that is one thing you will be longer have stress about.
